Travel with your Pets via Etihad Airways

Passengers onboard Etihad Airways can take small pets in cabin, to and via the UAE. Initial reports suggest that Etihad Airways has introduced a new programme that allows you to travel with your Pets via Etihad Airways into the cabin.

Some residents in the UAE are considering their options for travelling with their furry friends home over the summer break.

What You Need to Know about Traveling with Your Pet in Etihad Cabin

Etihad Airways offers a safer opportunity to fly with your pet, by allowing passengers to transport them in-flight. Most airlines only offer cargo options for pets which can be expensive and a bit worrisome for some pawrents.

In the past year, the airline has decided to offer pets a cabin bag allowance that’s an additional cost from their person’s cabin allowance.

If your travelling via economy class, it costs $150 (AED 550) per pet, per flight that is under six hours and $250 (AED 920) for flights lasting more than six hours.

Etihad welcomes travelers with trained service animals, pet cats and dogs onboard.

You can bring small pets on flights from the UAE if you meet the requirements.

More than one pet is not allowed on a flight, and owners have to present the veterinary and official documents for animals at check-in.

To ensure that you can take your pet with you on the flight, their weight must not exceed eight kilograms. You are responsible for checking entry and exit regulations for the country that both your pet and you are travelling to.

In cases where both the person with a pet and someone with an allergy are requesting to board the same flight, Etihad officials weigh requests made first.

How to book a flight with your pets?

To book a flight on Etihad, there is a booking form that has to be submitted at least 72 hours before your flight.
