Sweet Moments: Dog’s Nightly Visits to Baby Sister Captured on Baby Monitor
Berkley lives with his owner, Christine Jo Miller, her husband, and their young daughter, Elainey. At first, Miller worried that Berkley’s playful energy might be too much for her baby daughter. But soon, Berkley and Elainey became good friends.
Miller used to keep Berkley away from Elainey because he’s a big dog. But when they let Berkley be around her, they saw that he was really gentle.
When Elainey was about 8 months old, her parents put cameras in her room to watch over her while she slept. They saw something surprising on the video – Berkley was also checking on Elainey.
“We saw him on the cameras right after we put them up,” Miller said. “It was like he knew he had a job to do, which was to keep an eye on her.”
Elainey’s parents were always close by in case Berkley bothered her sleep. But it seemed like Berkley just wanted to make sure everything was okay.
“He never did anything bad,” Miller said. “He just looks at her and then goes away. It’s like he knows he’s part of the family and it’s his job.”
As Elainey got older, she understood that Berkley was looking out for her and she liked it.
“I told her that he checks on her to keep her safe at night,” Miller said. “She just smiled and said, ‘Awwwww.'”

Now that Elainey is 5 years old and has a younger brother, Berkley still stays with her.
“Their friendship is still strong!” Miller said. “We have a big place to live now, and Berkley follows her and her brothers everywhere. He’s still very protective. He loves all his babies a lot!”
So, Berkley and Elainey’s special friendship continues, making their lives happier in many ways.
