Hi, I’ve really been thinking of getting a dog and want some advice so I can do the best for both me and my future baby. I already did some research, but it still feels different hearing other experienced people’s opinions.

There are a lot of factors to consider and I need some knowledge on the following:
1. What is the average cost of adopting/getting a small dog/puppy?
2. What is the approx annual Vet costs?
3. Where can I take my dog during the hotter months?
4. What would be the relocation process in case I have to move out of UAE?

Any advice would be great.

1. If you mean to buy a dog then the cost would depend on the breed. However, I suggest if you were to get a dog, it’s better to adopt. Most common expense would be the food supplies and that would cost around 300 – 500.
2. Annual vet injections etc 900 to 1500 – hoping that no other emergencies arise during this time.
3. Since playing outdoors would be hard during this time, you can take them to indoor parks for doggos, or daycare. You can go to trips on the beach too.
4. Relocation can be a minimum of 5k up to 10k. I’ll be easier to have it done by a rellocation company rather than doing the whole process yourself.

I’d advise visiting shelters or contact some rescue groups they can give you honest opinions and discussion with those experienced rescuers about your concerns. It’d be good to foster a dog and get some experience before you commit for life.
