How to Volunteer Work in Animal Shelters in Dubai

If you’re looking to spend some quality time volunteering your time, there are plenty of animal shelters in the UAE that need your help. Here are a few tips for finding a shelter that’s the right fit for you and getting started volunteering:

  1. Do your research. Make sure to explore each shelter’s website and see if they have any volunteer opportunities that match your interests and abilities.
  1. Think about what type of experience you want to gain from volunteering. Some shelters may only require a brief stop by once a week, while others may request more regular visits.
  1. Consider your availability and the type of commitment you’re willing to make. Are you available primarily on weekday evenings or weekends? Are you able to commit to a minimum number of hours per week?
  1. Be prepared to be asked questions about the animals at the shelter and what you think can be done to improve their situation. This is an important part of vetting potential volunteers before allowing them access to the facility.
  1. Be ready to listen and offer feedback when it comes time for feedback sessions or meetings with the staff at the shelter. This is an important part of helping to build relationships between volunteers
