The case that has been filed from June 2021, sees a victim of a dog trading scam, wherein he saw a post of a dog for sale on a website for AED 3,000.

The victim who managed to negotiate the price to AED 2,500 has made a payment online to the scammers and was promised to receive the dog the same day.

But after some unforeseen emergency as per the scammers they weren’t able to send the dog. They even asked for an AED 8,000 refundable deposit to ship the dog but the victim declined saying he didn’t have that funds and was asked for AED 1,500 instead to be sent to another account.

After making the payment the victim had realized that he had been scammed and alerted the police.

It was then after that three asian expats were caught, fined for AED 4,000 and sentenced to three months in prison and deportation for defrauding the victim.
